ok, first of all, what exactly does "ftw" mean? and 2nd, i have a situation i'd like to share and hopefully get feedback on, and it semi-relates to myspace/facebook, which is why i'm posting it here. so, at work there's someone i like and while i dont think they "like" like me, i think they like me "as a person"(ex. they dont mind talking to me, wouldnt mind if i called them to talk, etc.). so, recently i found their facebook account(not 100% positive it's theirs, but pretty positive) and i want to add them as a friend, but the thing is, i dont know any of their friends so i dont know what to say if they wonder about how i found their account. but i do know someone that knows one of this person's friends. idk, but i do need help with that, because i'm not sure what to do about it and i dont want to come across as some sort of creepy/weird/stalkerish person, because i'm not at all, i was just curious if they had a facebook account and looked up their name. so, any help/advice would be much obliged.
FTW = for the win. Defined as "An enthusiastic emphasis to the end of a comment, message, or post."
It's nerdy-internet/videogame talk lol.

As for your situation, I Know what you are going through exactly lol. There are a few people I really want to add on facebook because I like them, but their profile is set to private so i need to be their friend in order to see it lol. As for what to do, If you know them and talk to them, go for it. In my situation...I have never even spoke to them (Work with one, have class with the other). So if I added them it would be extremely creepy and stalkerish lol. But if they know who you are, you shouldn't have a problem!
I'd say that it's okay then. I mean, if you talk at work, that's enough. (I'm assuming that you guys use names while talking, not just "Hey you" lol).
Now, If you're like stalker-me, I heard someone talking to him and overheard his name....
Then I went to a roster we have at work of all the employees (200+ish) and I looked through all of them, until I found his name (and last name); only then did I look him up on facebook.

Now that's a stalker :|
well i work in a grocery store where all the employees wear name-badges, so it's pretty easy to see how i found out the person's 1st name. and as for their last name, i actually did what you did and went to the schedule in the breakroom which has everyone's first and last name, looked under what department they're in and looked for their name. something really stalkerish that i sometimes do is look up when they're working during the week.
Ahaha, that's so awesome matt. I think everyone has a little bit of stalker in them.
To add to my "stalkerness". There was a really hot guy in one of my classes (of about 30 people), but I didn't know his aim. Anyway, online we can see our class roster, and basically i copy/pasted the male names into facebook to search for them. Then I looked at their pictures to see if it was the person. I went through several names and finally found him. I felt really stalkerish after that LMAO!
And oh, I also figured out where David archuleta from american idol lives (and a picture of his house). Creepy, I know. I don't know what creeps me out more, the fact that I know how to do that, or the fact that i actually DID it.
